(1818-1894) Блумер, Амелия ДженксАктивистка движения за права женщин, суфражистка [ suffrage movement]. В 1848 приняла участие в конференции в Сенека-Фолс [ Seneca Falls Convention]. В 1849-54 издавала ежемесячный журнал для женщин "Лилия" [The Lily], в котором, помимо прочего, пропагандировала среди сторонниц реформ новую моду - "турецкие шаровары" под платьем, которые получили название по ее имени [ bloomers], шляпки [ bloomer hat] и др. Блумер была первой женщиной - владельцем и издателем средства массовой информации.
